Technical Writer

<br /><br />Location: Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey, United States<br /><br />Salary: $50,000 to $55,000</span></strong><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />We have a need for several Technical Writers at the Picatinny Arsenal in Morris County, NJ. Positions are to support a multi-year contract with the government and can either be set up as corp-to-corp, independent contractors or direct hire employees with health and medical benefits, vacation and sick pay and a 401K plan.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Writers will be developing and creating system and user manuals for training purposes.<br /><br /><br /><br /><strong>Responsibilities:</strong><br /><br /><br /><br />Ø Processing engineering information to produce technical operator and maintenance manuals.<br /><br /><br /><br />Ø Assist in the preparation and editing of technical publications using established procedures and guidelines.<br /><br /><br /><br />Ø Assist with concept and presentation of written material and illustrations for the publication.<br /><br /><br /><br />Ø Conduct validation and verification of manuals in shop or field environments.<br /><br /><br /><br /><strong>Requirements:</strong><br /><br /><strong></strong><br /><br />Ø Comprehensive knowledge of grammar, writing, editing, and publishing processes to include electronic publishing concepts, practices, standards, and technologies.<br /><br /><br /><br />Ø Knowledge of SGML or Comprehensive knowledge of the Extensible Markup Language (XML) in the context of creating printed and electronic documents and/or manuals.<br /><br /><br /><br />Ø Able to read, modify, and develop XML Document Type Definitions (DTD) and Schemas.<br /><br /><br /><br />Ø Working knowledge of XML editing tools such as EPIC and xMetal.<br /><br /><br /><br />Ø Able to read, modify, and develop style languages such as Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).<br /><br /><br /><br />Ø Past experience with military publication development and/or IETM development is desirable.<br /><br /><br /><br />Ø Experience with electronic publishing tools such as FrameMaker, Interleaf, PageMaker is highly desirable.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Other Requirements:<br /><br /><br /><br />· At least 1 year experience working as a : Technical Writer<br /><br />· This position is located in Picatinny Arsenal, is this convenient for you?<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="mailto:somosophils@aol.com"><strong><span style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:130%;">Click here to Apply</span></strong></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />*****

We need a self starter who is able to work on their own with little supervision.
